"A Tale of Two Students" (Pass/Fail)

In my teaching career I have seen firsthand how your involvement makes a difference. There was one incident where I recall having two students facing the possibility of failing the school year.

As the notices went home, one parent contacted me regularly about student progress, and what could be done to improve thier child's chances of success. They also stayed in touch with the administration and learned their options.

The other parent never called, never inquired about the state of the student nor alternative opportunities for promotion.

As you can guess, in the end, the student of the involved parent took the necessary steps for their child to be promoted, while the other one remained unaware of those measures until it was too late.

Moral of the story: Get involved and stay involved. It means everything!
